You can dead head and trim up all Hydrangeas when needed.
Remove any damaged or dean branches as needed.

Pruning recommendations are different for each variety.

If you really are unsure of the type of Hydrangea you have, and the bush needs to be cleaned up and size reduced, trim no more than 1/3 of the plant in one cutting. Do this after blooms have faded.

Here is how I like to treat cut Hydrangea!

When I cut them outdoors I put them in a bucket of fresh water.
After bringing indoors I recut the stems and place them in hot water for at least 15 mins.
Then I place them in fresh room temperature water and add floral preservative as directed on the package.

Every couple of days refresh the water and recut the stems if the flowers are wilting.

Some hyndrangea grow flowers off of new wood and some of them will grow flowers off of old wood. Looks like yours grows flowers off of new wood. There is nothing you need to do except to be patient. :)

You can feed your hydrangeas with an acid fertilizer when buds start to swell so that fertilizer is available as the plant leafs outs and come into its most active phase of growth.
