Why do leaves on my hibiscus tree turn yellow? I pull them off every day and there are always more. Tree has many blossoms, and many ants too. Is it nutrient based? I live in a hot area; water plant daily. Has portulaca and basil growing in its pot at base of tree.
Yellow leaves are normally stress related and since you mentioned ants, this would indicate a pest problem. The ants themselves are not a problem, but they are likely on the plant because of aphids, which secrete sugary-like honeydew that ants love. The aphids can be taken care of by treating the plant (and others around base) with neem oil. These articles will help:

Same problem - found 2 easy solutions! 1 don't water everyday! I found out after an extreme dry spell and we didn't water, my Hibiscus "Came to life"!
Solution 2 is: add 1 cup vinegar to 1 gallon of water - just apply it to the soil at the base of your plant (don't get it on the leaves!) and you will be amazed! (found this on another gardening site)
Good Luck!
Can I fertilize hibiscus potted plants with Osmocote in over 100 degrees?
You should not try to fertilize during hot weather as this can lead to root burning. I would wait until the temps drop a bit.
Please tell me how to treat black spot and some yellowing leaves on my hibiscus. The one nearby is thriving - just five feet away!
Black spot fungus can be treated with a fungicide. As a safety precaution, I would treat the other plant too, just in case the fungus spreads. If the yellow leaves continue, this article will have other suggestions:

The white cottony substance is on the buds themselves and not necessarily the leaves. I tried mild soapy water and it did not work. What is causing this?
It sounds like you have either mealybugs or possibly scales, which are closely related to mealybugs and are an occasional problem on these plants. Neem oil is an effective treatment. Here is more iinformation: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/pests/pesticides/neem-oil-uses.htm

Hibiscus are particularly suceptible to this, and it is an insect, called the "whitefly" that causes it. I have found on the hibiscus I have had in the past, that a mixture Horticultural oil and mild soap water (dawn) sprayed on the affected areas has worked well. I caution you to use the spray in the evening, though, as the suns rays will cause burn spots if it hits the oil.
Two old/mature red Hibiscus, leaves look very healthy, but after moving them (in pots) from my mom's, they have never bloomed. They bloomed a lot before.
These plants can be somewhat tempermental. Most likely the lack of blooming is related to the change in its environment (temp fluctuations, light, etc.), resulting in stress. However, once the plant has accepted its new location and adjusted to the area, it should resume blooming. You can also add some bone meal to the soil to give the plant more phosphorus, which will help with blooming.
My hibiscus plant is not giving flower.
If you have a lack of buds or flowering, you can add a bloom plus fertilizer or bone meal to the soil around your plant to add additional phosphorus, which is responsible for blooming in plants.
I purchased a hibiscus that was received off a truck as damaged. The cooler had not been turned on the entire trip from Florida to Pennsylvania. The plants were molded and rotting. I purchased one at markdown as damaged, cleaned it up, repotted it and it flourished. It got blossoms all over it and thickened with leaves. It's been 2 months now and the leaves are turning yellow and dropping off as well as unopened blossoms. The weather, from what I have read on them, shouldn't be the issue as it has been a very warm summer and I keep it watered as I should.
