Has there been any success growing a rainbow eucalyptus in KY? Could it survive in zone 6 Kentucky? How can you make such a huge tree into a bonsai?
Unfortunately the Rainbow Eucalyptus needs a much warmer growing zone.

To my knowledge this tree would not be able to be a Bonsai tree.
I planted a lovely rainbow eucalyptus tree four months ago and it is about four feet tall now. This week, some of the leaves have turned red/orange and fallen off. I am very concerned. What might the problem be and what can I do about it?
Check soil conditions and watering. It may be the tree is stressed from being newly planted and the summer heat.
Inspect the tree, leaves and trunk for any other signs of insect or disease.
I am listing a link with common disease and issues with a Eucalyptus Tree.

If you feel the tree has a disease issue I would certainly contact the nursery it was purchased from.
A reputable garden center will likely guarantee the trees health.
I moved my small 4 foot eucalyptus tree to an area where it can grow without interference and since then its leaves have taken on a crumpled look. I was very careful preparing the soil and made sure that I did everything that as recommended to me by my garden center. The lower branches are looking quite brown now too.
Trees will commonly get "transplant shock" after transplanting. Check these articles to see what to do:

When and how to transplant and how to fix my tiny trees? Did not take off and most are dead or dying, a few are hanging on but no growth at all.

Parasite?
This could be the eucalyptus borer:

We live adjacent to a park, which has several eucalyptus trees. Some neighbors claim the root system is invading their sewer system and growing under driveways and cracking them. Is their root system deep?
90 % of the Eucalyptus tree roots grow in the top 12 inches of soil. This shallow root system grows quickly and the trees tap root most grow down into the soil at least 6 feet to keep the tree upright. The lateral roots spread out up to 100 feet to support the tree. This can be an issue for nearby structures. Eucalyptus trees planted in an urban area can cause problems with damage to sidewalks, foundations, septic systems and water pipes.
A professional should be called if you suspect damage from roots.
