I have planted my garden with Dietes iridioides. The area is now thick with thousands, which does put on a good show but I think they need to be minimized. How do I go about this? Should I cut the seed heads off as they appear?

My plant is potted and gets full sun. I understood the soil likes to be moist, but other articles indicate it is drought-resistant and needs little watering. I live in the SF Bay area. Please advise on how I should care for the plant. It's a beautiful plant that I recently purchased and don't want it to die. Thanks so much.
These plants prefer a boggy growing area, so it is likely the plant is needing water.
