    This can happen when roots are broken during transplant, if the soil is too wet, or if the soil is bone dry. Typically, this kind of stress indicates that some of the main roots were heavily damaged, though.

    Unfortunately, there is little to be done. The only thing that you can do is care for it and hope that it recovers in time.

    This can be common with this plant. If it is killed back to ground level, but the roots remained alive, then it will grow back. Now, you can let it have multiple trunks or cut back to a single one.

    I would cut the dead portions down, as well. This will help the new shoots to develop.
