I purchased this plant because my husband loved it. Planted it with some other hosta's and read up on it after planting. found it would grow 8 feet tall and 8 feet wide. I dug a whole 3 times the size of it and put it in the ground. as it grows it will have to work its way thru clay and serpentine. with that in mind do I have to worry about it getting as big as they say, or will its growth be stunted??
It has dense growth to 3 to 5 feet tall by 4-6 feet wide.
Growth may be a bit less if exposed to coastal winds.
Hello - I am wondering if you can help me. I was looking for a plant to put in my bay window indoors. I went to my local nursery in Bentonville, Arkansas and the Customer Service Rep informed me that Coprosma would work. I get the east sun, very sunny through my lace curtains during the morning hours. Bright light the rest of the day. I cannot find anything on the internet to tell me how to care for this plan indoors. Can you please give me any information? The only thing I know is that I can prune it if it gets too big. Thank you very much Nancy

Watered daily early AM. Good drainage. We are in summer 100 degree plus temps. Should they be shaded? Lately temps over 105.
They can tolerate full sun. They do struggle a bit in hot weather, but they will also struggle in wet soil. Make sure that your soil is dry, thoroughly, down to about 3 to 5 inches between waterings. This will prevent disease, and root suffocation.
You may want to use a fungicide, as well.
