    They are very slow to start blooming many times and sometimes wait until they reach the top of the structure that it is climbing. But it pays to also monitor the local weather to see if winter or late frosts are zapping the flower buds that develop in the previous summer but open in late spring or thereabouts; make sure the soil does not have too much nitrogen from fertilizers; pruning at the wrong time; pest pruning (deer, etc.). A soil assay after 10 years may also be useful.
