I love this plant. I'm looking for advice on pruning it. In it's pot, the long trails are hardy and flowered. But at the crown, the stems are bare and unattractive. I'm concerned about pruning them back so far as it will be a huge percentage of the trails. Plz advise. BI
Pruning these will actually encourage growth at the base again. You won't hurt the plant to do so, but it is important to note that most of the time this plant is grown as an annual.

I this plant deer resistent?
It is considered Deer resistant, though if hungry they will dine on nearly any plant.
What type of soil does bacopa need.
Bacopa likes consistent moisture in a sunny location with protection from hot afternoon sun. If you have sandy soil, amend it with sphagnum peat moss, coir or compost. Many people use Bacopa as the "spiller" in containers. As long as the planter doesn't dry out, this works well. As with most annual flowers, using a long-acting flower fertilizer helps it bloom non-stop. Avoid fertilizers with high nitrogen values as these encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowering. I have Bacopa in a window box and there is a new shoot from the roots, how the new shoot is over 12 inches tall.
Probably a weed seed got in with your plant. I would just pull it out.

Does it need soil or it can be grown in water in a container?
Sure, you can grow just about any plant hydroponically. You just need to make sure to have a few things handy. You will need to have hydroponic nutrients, pH meter, EC meter, and a way to keep the water oxygenated. An air pump with an air stone will do.

I WANTED TO PLANT MY BACOPA PLANT TODAY OR SOON AND I NEED TO KNOW IF IT'S TOO COLD OUTSIDE AT NIGHT TIME FOR THEM."? WILL THEY DIED???
I'm not sure which of the two plants commonly referred to as "Bacopa" that you are inquiring about, but either one will want to be started when the temperatures stay in the upper 40's or 50's.

my plant is in a flower box and we had a great deal of rain so now the flowers are wilted. Dead flowers are a soggy site. J.K
They do not need pruning, but they need consistent moisture to keep blooming. They prefer part shade to full sun but do not handle heat well.
