Hi there. I brought 2 aloe Vera back from lanzarotte 3 years ago. They are kept in the conservatory in the winter and outside in the summer. I did not think that they would grow.
You will want to wait until after flowering. Doing so now will kill the flower, prematurely. They don't flower often, so you may want to let it finish to avoid disturbing its process.

I know it's Aloe, but I'm not sure what kind of Aloe it is. Please help.
This is probably, either, Aloe vera or Aloe arborescens. More likely Aloe vera, though.

Thank you so much ?
I have several mature flowering aloe veras and the leaves / limbs are growing down ward and out of the pot making it difficult to water it . Should I trim these off to the point where the remaining leaves are pointing up or just leave them alone ?
Does it need to be repotted? If the leaves are healthy I would not cut them off. If the bottom leaves are wilted, yellowed or dying, cut them off close to the base of the plant.

I was given a nice sized aloe plant in appropriately sized pot last year. It thrived on my mental Ohio (zone 5?), north facing deck from late spring to early fall but when frost threatened I took it inside and put it in front of the patio door facing the deck (i.e. same light) it soon died. Do you think I shocked it somehow? I want to get another one this year (it's amazing how well it works as a topical solution for skin problems like rash and sunburn) but I don't want to kill it come November. How can I take it inside safely? Thanks for any advice you can give me.
Yes, moving these from one environment to another will definitely shock it. Usually it will come back after it has lost all of the dying leaves, though. Try using a horticultural growlight for winter time. 50 to 100 watts will keep it alive and healthy.

What are the black spots all over the ends of my aloe vera and what cause it?
You may have a fungal infection called black spot. Here are some articles that may help:

It is a small houseplant Checked for any pests but there aren’t any I can see Leaves are randomly falling off Watered once a month There is a large draining hole
If the leaves are falling off I'd be concerned about root rot. Once a month watering may be too much in this case. Wait until the soil is very dry a couple inches down in the pot. I would go ahead and repot in clean container and new soil, preferably labeled for cacti/succulents. Also be sure it is getting lots of light, such as a south or west window.

I saw you had some Aloe information on your site. One of my Aloe pots took a nose dive courtesy of a young cat. Most of the original plant was broken off except for 2 leaves, once which has since dried and fallen off. My question, the new leaves that have come up off the main root do not have any teeth along the edges, not that they have edges. They came up round and look like fingers. The other two in the pot are different variety I think. I was wondering if you could tell me why no teeth? Thank you
After researching, I didn't find anything other than it could be a different variety or it is a "sport," which is just a mutation.
