Q.how can I get rid of Ants?

Zone UK midlands | anjiall added on July 19, 2012 | Answered

My house was built around 15 yrs ago, and I have always had an ant problem. They have taken over all the pots in the garden, and they eat the roots of everything. Growbags work but they’re ugly. I’ve thought about putting in raised beds and buying sterile topsoil, but if the ants get into pots, they’ll infest those as well.

Typically, ants are not a threat to the garden but are instead attracted to the honeydew secretions left behind from certain pests, like aphids. Of course, they may also be attracted to rotting or sugary fruits. Cornmeal is often used in home remedies for treating ants.
