Q.Harvesting Radishes

Zone Newport, RI 02840 | debgold added on August 6, 2017 | Answered

Hi there! How do I know when my radishes are ready to be harvested? I planted the seeds June 24, it’s now August 6. They have greens, but I don’t know what’s doing underground. They are in an elevated container, if that is helpful to know. Thanks!!

You may need to gently pull one up to see but, oftentimes, the bulb will begin protruding from the ground and is ready to harvest when it's about an inch or so in diameter. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/radish/harvest-radishes.htm
