Zucchini propagation

Thanks for your prompt response.
My neighbour is growing zucchini successfully with enormous fruit dangling on barbed wire.

What would you suggest we do in order to keep this going?

In other words, can I also obtain a plant from our neighbour and grow zucchini in my garden?

Looking forward to your positive reply.

Regards

In most cases, without a few pieces of lab equipment and a way to sterilize that is plant safe, the cuttings will fail, as these are very difficult to root. It can be done, but it is far from easy. With this being said, I can only recommend obtaining a seed from one of his fruits. Even then, you will be at the mercy of natural cross pollination. The odds of reproducing this EXACT plant are very low. If you propagate using his seeds from his crop , you can get close. Sometimes these can turn out better tasting or more prolific. If you want to still try and clone this plant, should it root, then it will be less prolific because of its age.

If you want to try this, then obtain a small piece of the tip of a vine, and dip it in a mixture of Crushed aspirin, honey, and just enough warm water to melt them together into a gel. This will act as rooting hormone. You will have to use peroxide on it when it tries to rot. This will happen multiple times before it will try to root.

I hope this helps, even though it is not the best news.
