yucca plants in Wisconsin

My six outdoor yucca plants have survived in Wisconsin for several years and have always looked healthy. The soil is well-drained. This week (early March) something has chewed the leaves off the plants – almost every leaf is detached at the base. The leaves are totally intact and none seem to be missing. I assume it’s some small mammal?? Would wild turkeys do this? Thank you.

This certainly could be Wild Turkey’s. Are they in your area? They are less and less afraid of humans and if they find a food source, will eat it.
It could also be many other critters. Spring brings the wake up of small animals that are hungry.
