Yellow Spots on Wisteria Leaves

The spots were on the plant when I bought it and the salesperson told me it was a virus and to just add something to the soil it was planted in years ago. The plant is very large now, but it still has yellow spots all over the leaves. What is it, and how do I get rid of it?

Shame on the salesperson, a virus will live in a plant for that plant’s lifetime. The virus may not kill the plant outright, but it will stunt or damage the growth.
Yellowing in the leaves is normal to a point. If you feel it is excessive, I would suggest that you take a sample to your local agricultural extension office for identification and recommendations.
