Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live in Illinois, Zone 5b, and I have a white princess peach tree and I want to know if the long winters we have will kill it. It says on the tag the chill requirements are about 500-800 hours under 45°F when while our chill hours are about 1000-1400 I believe so I want to know if it will survive or not.

The hardiness planting zone for that peach tree is from 5 to 8, so you are on the edge. It wouldn't hurt to give it some protection in winter to make sure it sees it through. Give it plenty of mulch for winter and if it's not planted in a protected area, you may want to take more measures when a cold blast is due.
