Will a crape myrtle still live if weed eated accidently?

My new yard man accidently weed eated a small crape myrtle to the stem. It had leaves and a couple of white flowers on it. Will it come back with time or is it dead?

It most likely will come back. In colder areas, crape myrtles may die back to the ground during winter but grow back from the roots in spring. So I imagine a weed eater won’t keep this plant down.
