Why Does My Bok Choy Have Tiny Prickly Hairs Underneath The Leaves.

My bok choy has come up nicely, but all the leaves have tiny prickly things underneath, like tiny thorns but about the size of a hair. They are stiff enough I don’t feel comfortable eating them. This has happened to us three years in a row now, no matter which seeds or variety we buy. Any ideas?

This sometimes happens with plants in the brassica family. You may not want to eat it fresh but you can cook it.
