why do we have seeds in our limes?

The limes we purchase at the grocery store do not have seeds. The limes produced on our tree do.  Why is this?

You are likely growing a Key lime tree. Most of the limes you will find in the grocery store have no seeds because they are normally produced from Persian or Tahiti limes. These types are naturally seedless. Key limes, on the other hand, do have seeds.
