Why Did Daffodils Fail to Produce

Why didn’t my daffodils produce any flowers this year? They did great last year. It’s been about 4 years and they were thick, so I transplanted them in the fall. I put one bulb in a hole pointy side up and roots down. I just don’t know what I did wrong.

This could be due to any number of things. If they did not have sufficient chilling, then their blooming will be poor. If the plants are overcrowded, then blooming will be decreased. Light and drainage can be issues as well, but only if nearby trees, etc. have recently changed would this affect you. Finally, the soil could be lacking phosphorus, which is important for flowering. You can mix bone meal in the soil around your plants to add more phosphorus.
