Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI have an olive tree as a house plant.. It is in a south window, and it regularly puts out what appeared to be flower buds at the base of the leaves, but instead of developing into flowers, they dry up. Otherwise, the tree appears healthy. I don’t know what variety it is, so I don’t know if it is capable of flowering. Assuming that it’s a fruit producing variety, what can I do to increase the possibility that the flowers will develop. I have started watering it more deeply, but that doesn’t seem to be making a difference.

It sounds like it may not be mature enough to set fruit, properly, yet. They can take 3 years or longer (especially in container) to see the first successful flowers. The best remedy might be time. That and the best care. These articles will offer more information on the subject:
