Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHave a beautiful golden Oregano plant. I am trying to dry in my food dryer. I cut off the new shoots to dry, and by the time I had brought them in the house and washed them off, they were changing to a green color losing the golden hues. Sigh. Very disappointing.

Many carotenoids give plants their yellow color. Many of those will, also, contribute to photosynthesis. With this being said, it will be expected that some of those carotenoids break down with the lack of photosynthesis and sunlight. Increasing the amount of sunlight that these cutting receive should help restore some of their color, however, be careful not to allow too much light. That could inhibit rooting.
