White Worms and Azaleas

This morning I saw white worms at the bark of my Azaleas. They look like maggots. Any suggestions?

Well speaking from experience, could be the weather,a lot of rain and some fly insect layed some eggs and now due to the weather the time is right to hatch,or possibly over watering can create the same problem.Good luck! the words of a gardener.But I’m sure there’s a article out their somewhere
