Which Plant/s For This In-patio West Facing Bed?

Hi everyone, I am stuck! I have a 2m x 1m bed within the patio which is west facing and gets sun midday through late afternoon. I have two boys and two young dogs who love to eat a grass or anything that tantalisingly moves in the breeze. I’d love something scented to sit next to and, although I don’t mind height, I don’t want anything that completely obsures the view through to the rest of the garden. We are located in London and are fairly well sheltered. Ps in the photos the right side of the patio will be a dining area and the left a lounge area and I’m only halfway through power-washing the tiles 🙂 I also hope to have some ferns on the north facing fence boundary on the left.
