Yucca is native to many areas of the Americas. In North America, Mexico and the US Southwest have the most native species. Some species are also native to Central America. However, of the 49 species of yucca, some are native all the way into Canada. In warmer climates, yucca can assume tree form. In colder regions, it is a low, ground-hugging plant.
