When to Fertilize Newly Planted Hydrangeas

When should I fertilize hydrangeas that I planted in early May? I live in southeast Ga. , Zone 8.

Spring is great time to fertilize, so I would do so right now. Use a fertilizer slightly higher in phosphorus to help the roots establish and the plant bloom.
