When is the best time of year to prune apricot trees?

My tree is getting quite full (wide) and I’d like to know when it’s good to prune some lower branches. It is only the second year of growth. Would it be helpful to prune at all?

Late winter or early spring is the best time to prune an Apricot Tree.
