When Do You Cut Back A Spring Flowering Bush?

I have several spring bushes that bloom early and then grow like crazy out of control. When should I cut them back, I say right after they bloom, my neighbor says in winter.

It depends on the exact bush, unfortunately. Some specimens will prefer a pruning during the dormant months, and some right after flowering!

Without knowing the type of shrub that it is, you could try experimenting with which method works best for you.
