What Was The Name Of The Man Who Broadcast Gardening Advice On Sundays 1940/50’s

The man was famous for his advice and know-how in the 1940’s and 1950’s. I am looking for his name, please. I don’t think it was Percy Thrower.

The BBC had once someone called Cecil Henry Middleton broadcasting. Could it be him?
