What to Plant in Full Sun

I have 2 planters in front of my house that are appx. 70′ x 3′ total. I usually plant petunias, but am looking for something new as they have not been doing well the last few years. I need something short/colorful/can take full sun/can buy by the flat-not single, and not marigolds. Also, I have 5 -3′ window boxes above the planters-need something for them also. Can you help? Thanks

You should rotate petunia crops every two years. Little known fact…

Begonia’s, dwarf sun coleus, Mexican Heather, Scaevola, bidens, bacipa, verbena, million bells, salvia, celosia, wandering jew, and many, many more. Have you considered adding a few perennials or even shrubs to take up space?
