what to do with my mums

I bought mums to plant this fall like I did last year, which have done beautifully. The problems is, is that I did a really stupid thing by applying Roundup Extended Control in the place where I had planned to put my mums when I bought them. I applied the week killer about 4 weeks ago, maybe 5 weeks. Not realizing nothing could be planted for 4 months, I have put myself with a problem. I have almost an acre of property but most of it is heavily shaded or just partial shade for now. I will have a lot more sun exposure after the leaves fall until they come back in the spring. I need to know where I can plant my mums so they will establish rooting till I can move them in the spring to the place that is presently unavailable. I wondered even, if I could plant them in their pots for the winter as long as I mulch them really well. Or, can I plant them in mostly shade for now and they will get lots of sun through the winter and spring? In other words, what can I do for them live till spring?
Thank you.

Depending on how heavily the chemical was applied, it is a possibility that it will affect your mums. You , most certainly can plant them in pots, and keep them indoors, or very heavily mulched. They can survive in a pot if fertilized once a month. This article will help:https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/chrysanthemum/growing-chrysanthemum-flowers.htm [1]
