What Is This Strange Growth On My Rose?

I overwintered this rose in my garage and it has been healthy with no problems, until today when I saw this strange growth at the base of it! What is it? Is it contagious? Can it be treated? Appreciate any help. Thank you!

There are all shapes and sizes of fungi and it looks like you have one of them. They generally are harmless to the plant.
