What Is The Ideal Soil PH For A Black Tupelo?

I read your article about tupelos, and it says they favor an acidic soil. I live in southeastern WI, and will need to amend my soil. Can you suggest a specific reading I should try to reach on my pH meter as I’m mixing powdered sulphur with my tree’s soil base?

I didn't find an exact reading other than below 6 on the pH scale.
