What Flower Should I Plant?

I am building a raise garden bed and will soon be putting built if no other problems arrive. I am looking into flowers to plant but I know almost nothing about growing plants. I only know the basics that plants need sunlight and water to survive and that about it. I am planning on having 2 wheels on the Raised bed so I could move it around easier. Can you help me on what I should plant, I want something that is safe for dogs and cats, I have 5 dogs and a neighbors cat that roams outside. I want to be safe and get something that is safe just in case they eat something from the plant. I also want it to keep bees and wasp away because my mom and I are allergic. I am planting as a way to get me outdoors more and I would like to see blue flowers that I raised.

I'm going to give you links to four different articles. If you want to plant perennials – plants that come back each year, this article will give you some ideas for your zone, which is zone 5:

If you want to plant annuals, which will need to be replanted each year, this article will help:

I love hydrangeas, and the blue varieties are especially pretty, but they are bushes and may grow larger than you want:

Many of the flowers listed in these articles come in blue. You may want to make a few calls to garden centers to find out what colors they carry. I hope this will be helpful. And, finally, this link will take you to a page that has lots of different articles about plants that can be toxic for pets. This will give you a good idea of what not to plant in your yard. https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/search?q=poisonous%20flowers%20shrubs [4]
