What Does Maize Need For Maximum Yield

I have learnt that some farmers yield 4tonns per acre. I planted soya and it had yellowish leaves and didn’t yield well. I want to add ‘CAN’ to the soil before planting maize. Is that OK? And if so, how should I apply it? a 50kg bag should cover what area (or, about 10kg should cover what area)? When planting the maize I have a fertilizer [yaramila serial]. Do I apply both at once (or on the same season)?

We are more tailored to the backyard gardener. It sounds like you need agricultural information. Have you asked at the local stores where you buy your seed and fertilizer? There should be a network of farmers who help each other.
