What Are These Red Sacs On My Trees

I have a pear tree and a sand cherry tree and this spring they both have these red sacs on them that ooze yellow when you break them. Does anyone know what they are and if they are harmful to the trees?

This appears to be Fire Blight. Treatment can be difficult, but it is not impossible. Pruning all infected branches, cleaning between each cut, and then treating for the infection will be necessary. This article will go into detail:
