oleanders in the backyard

We just moved to Texas and there is 3 big oleanders in the backyard. I have 3 dogs and 3 kids, one with a immune deficiency, and I was wondering how dangerous they are and what should I do about them. I have read a lot and I am terrified.

You are right to be concerned with Oleanders.

It is not recommended to have this plant in an area where children and pets are.
All parts of the plant are considered poisonous.

You may want to have the shrubs professionally removed from you yard.
