rooting cottonwood

We have had success with rooting an old, historical cottonwood with cloning gel. What next? We have leaves on two of our rooting attempts, but it is fall. What should we do with these two successful rootings over the winter?

I would continue to grow the propagated tree cuts under grow lights for the winter.

By spring the trees should be ready for planting outdoors.
