What kind of water is best for plants and flowers to grow–tap water, drinking water, salt water, or sugar water?

Generally, any type of water is beneficial to plants; however, the use of distilled water can cut down on salt buildup resulting from fluoride in regular tap water. Rainwater can also benefit plants, as it is filled with nutrients.
