Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHello! I notice you mention hardiness zones when talking about plants and the conditions they prefer….but I notice they’re US zones. How would I figure out what hardiness zone I live in if I live in Canada? According to other zoning maps I’ve found for Canada it looks like I’m in a 3b to 4a but how would that translate to the USDA hardiness zones?
In the attached photo is a close up of Alberta. I live in Edmonton, Alberta.

There is a very easy way to convert from our zoning system to yours. Just add one to get the Canadian equivalence. For example, if it refers to our zone 4, it would be your zone 5.

You can also compare the temperature ranges rather than the zone number.
