Uncovering Crown in Spring

I may have been too late uncovering the crowns of my bushes this spring. They look like new growth is coming back out like the wild roses. I’ve uncovered them and pruned them a little. Will it still revert back to the wild rose or will it come back as the hybrid?

It may be growing back as the rootstock, but it would not have been from you uncovering them too late. Roses are often grafted onto a hardier rootstock and if the scion (the rose you bought) dies back completely in the cold, the rootstock will take over. The weather was unusual this winter and if it was particularly cold or you had dramatic temperature fluctuations, this may have killed the scion.
