Two Honeysuckle vines bought together, one thrives….

…in one sunny spot, and I mean grows and blooms like crazy, and yet the other Honeysuckle failed to thrive in another sunny spot in a different bed. I finally moved it about 18″ to the right where I have an extremely happy clematis. So the failing Honeysuckle is now recovering and looks like its going to be OK. (See last photo. The recovering vine is the vine to the right of the dog door.
BUT.
I bought another Honeysuckle and planted it again in the same sunny spot (See last photo. Vine to the left of the dog door), hoping this time it would be different. But no. Honeysuckle failing to thrive.
I have very happy plants in the same bed as the new failing Honeysuckle but it seems that something is very wrong with the growing conditions of this one spot even though plants thrive all around it.
I’m thinking of transplanting this sick Honeysuckle into a pot while keeping it in the same spot as it was in the ground because I’m so attached to having a Honeysuckle in this ill fated spot.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be so helpful! Thank you!

It sounds like you may have a bit of a soil problem in that spot. Potting up your new honeysuckle might be best until you can get to the bottom of the problem with a soil test. Make sure the pot's soil is well draining, and you might consider adding some organic fertilizer.
