Tupelo Tree – Transplant

I would like to relocate our Tupelo tree (Nyssawhere it will have more room to grow. When is the best time to dig up and relocate and what is safest method and preparation to avoid killing plant. We live in Gidgegannup Western Australia (temperate zone) and have just started the season Autumn.
