Tulip care

I live in Richmond, VA and planted tulips late last spring. They bloomed and wilted. I wasn’t sure what to expect this year- checking on them the other day, their shoots are coming out of the ground again. I am assuming this is due to the very mild winter we’ve been having with spring like temperatures. Winter has finally arrived here and now I am worried about the below freezing temps we are supposed to have the next few days-should I cover them? Bring the pot inside until it warms? Or is it a lost cause?

Thank you.

Cover the pots during the evening or bring in to a sheltered area like a garage.
You can place them back outdoors when the temperatures warm.

Tulips or any other flowers that are erupting to early can certainly be damaged or killed by the frost and cold.
