Trumpet vines

My trumpet vine flowered profusely when we first moved in 14 years ago. The last three or four years, however, we get very few flowers.
Can you suggest a reason for this?

Trumpet vine or trumpet creeper, Campsis radicans is a rambunctious, fast grower. Evaluate whether trees or shrubs have grown in those 14 years such that the vine is no longer getting enough light to bloom. Soil that is too rich or fertilized may also result in green growth, not flowers. A couple shovels of compost as a top-dressing is all they need. If it is getting at least 4 hours of direct sun daily, try a radical pruning early next spring to rejuvenate it.
