Trumpet vine

I planted a yellow trumpet vine two years ago and it is beginning to climb the trellis I built. I used 2×4 posts because I had one before and knew how sturdy I needed the support to be. I didn’t think about it at the time, but I have planted it 15-20 feet from my well. At my old house I kept it trimmed and never had trouble with it, but I lived in town and didn’t have a well. Is this vine going to grow into my well from this distance? It’s probably not too late to dig it up yet, as it is only about 3′ tall in my nasty clay soil. Thank you.

I would consult a professional with the well situation.

Trumpet Vine roots are know to be invasive and the cost of a plant vs. the cost of well damage is a problem to address sooner than later.
