transplanting citrus trees

What time of year is it best to transplant citrus trees? I am in Northern California. I am in zone 14.

If you need to transplant Citrus Trees try to do this in the fall or early spring while the tree is dormant.

Cut the tree back by 1/3 to help the trees roots be able to sustain the tree.
Water the tree generously 24 hours before moving.
Wrap the remaining branches of the tree to protect it during the move.

Prepare the new planting hole for the best results.
