Transplanting a hibiscus shrub

We have a healthy hibiscus shrub that has been in its present position for about 6/7 years now. However, we are replanning that part of our garden and would like to locate it elsewhere.

It is in full bloom at the moment and stands about 7 ft high. We thought of pruning it in about March 2013 to about 3 ft. , and transplanting it to its new position.

Can you please give us some advice?

Thank you.

That should be fine. Just make sure all threat of frost has ceased before pruning. Also, make sure to get as much of the roots and surrounding soil as possible to ensure its survival and lessen the chances of shock.
