Transferring Lilac Bushes From Pots

What are the correct procedures when removing lilac bushes from pot into ground?

Most transplanting takes place in spring or fall (preferably fall). If you ensure that the plant has adequate growing conditions in its new location, you’ll have a greater chance of success. Remove the plant from its pot and place in a hole of about the same size. To reduce shock, trimming may help.
