rose petals and stems are black

Can anybody advise me on what this could possibly be? The light pink roses and gypsophila we put in a pot that’s at the head of our parent’s headstone have gone black. The stems and the petals of the flowers are black too, and one head has completely fell off. We have never seen this before and even the gypsophila was black too. Could it be frost that’s caused this?

It could be frost damage, blight, mildew, chemical damage, or a number of other ailments. Without seeing a photo of the plants it’s very hard to diagnose it. Has there been any frost where the cemetery is located? Has there been high humidity or rain?
