Start Jade Plant With Cutting

I was told to let it dry, put in a glass of water to get roots to start, and then plant in soil. I see now that there are what look like white roots approximately 1-1/2″ long. Am I ready, and do I use a nice size (lg. ) pot so I don’t have to transplant again anytime soon?
